COURSE INTRODUCTION
Diploma in Tourism Management is to provide students with a broad understanding of the operational aspects of the international tourism industry, and a knowledge of the underlying principles involved. At the Advanced level the course is designed for students wishing to take up management positions in the tourism industry making strategic decisions with a holistic understanding that are necessary for growth of the business and achieving sustainability
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Understand travel geography from both local and international perspectives
Understand the impacts of tourism on destination economies, communities and fragile environments.
Demonstrate knowledge of global economic dependence between tourism countries.
Understand Tourism policy- making within global, international and national contexts and develop an ability to establish and apply innovative strategic planning approaches.
AWARD OF CERTIFICATE
Students will be awarded a certificate by the Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality upon successful completion of all modules.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Upon completion of the Advanced Diploma, graduates will be suited for employment in a management capacity within the Tourism sector, Tour Operating Organizations or continue on to further study with a Bachelor in Tourism Management programme.
