The Diploma and Tourism Management course develops knowledge in the areas of hospitality and tourism by building up a good foundation in key aspects of business management. The course incorporates real life learning opportunities in the 3 rd year of the course and is part of the curriculum.
During the diploma course, students will be exposed to foundation business, hospitality and tourism concepts and this is built up progressively where students will be trained to develop higher level skills in managing hospitality and tourism organizations.

Graduates will be suited for employment in a management capacity within the hospitality and tourism sector, hotels, resorts, restaurants, events and convention centres.
Structure and Design
The course comprises of 16 fully taught modules conducted on both full time (day classes) and part time (Evening Classes)
Full Time (Day Classes)
The Diploma can be completed in 16 months which means each course is about 8 months. The contact hours for each module is about 36 hrs per module. A maximum of 4 modules can be taken per term.
Part Time (Evening Classes)
The diploma in Hotel and Tourism Management can be completed in 24 months which means each course can be completed within a minimum duration of 12 months. Participants who attend in the evening are generally working can choose to complete the course at their own pace . The maximum time span given to complete the course is 3 years. A maximum of 3 modules can be taken per term. |
