Admission Criteria
Applicants must fulfill ONE of the following entrance requirements and meet all the Additional criterias
- 5 GCE ‘O’ levels OR
- 3 GCE ‘O’ levels with 2 years of working experience OR
- GCE ‘A’ levels (partial) i.e 2 ‘A’ and 2’AO’ passes OR
- ITE – Higher NITEC OR
- Certificate in Business Studies (CBS- ITE and ITC holder OR
- Cambridge Institute Foundation Certificate OR
- Other Professional Certificates will be considered on a case to case basis.
Application by Mature Entry
Applicants in this category will have achieved the age of 21 by January 1 of the first year of enrolment in the programme, and have provided evidence of releavant prior learning and experience
Special Application
Notwithstanding the above admission categories, in exceptional circumstances an applicant below the age of 21 who can show evidence of ability to succeed in the programme may be considered for admission, provided the applicant has successfully completed a special programme, which prepares students for the required academic standard for entry, (e.g. successfully completion of Cambridge Institute’s foundation certificate or any professional certificate course.
Additional Criteria
In addition, the following requirements also apply to all applicants in all admission categories.
Applicants whose first language is not English, or who come from a country where the language of instruction in schools is not English, must provide evidence of having passed such tests of English language competence as have been approved by the academic board.
All enrolments in the twin diploma course i.e. Diploma in Hotel and Tourism Studies and Diploma in Hotel and Tourism Management are at the discretion of the Head of School in consultation with the programme Manager and Head of Faculty as required.
Applicants must possess a C6 in English at GCE ‘O’ levels.
Applicants who do not meet the English requirements are required to
Sit and pass the English placement test conducted by Cambridge Institute
Achieve a minimum of 213 points (computer based) or 550 points (paper based) in TOEFL or
Achieve a minimum of band 5.5 in the IELTS |
