COURSE INTRODUCTION

For those wanting to take the first step in a career in accountancy or to prepare school -leavers and mature students for employment in accounting departments of commercial, industrial or public sector organisations or in the offices of practicing accountants.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
  1. Understand the operational aspects of maintain accounting systems and procedures relating to invoicing, receipts and payments, recording income and expenditure and preparation of ledger accounts and trial balance.
  2. Understand how organizations record, analyze and report current and future costs, maintaining an effective accounting system, prepare yearend financial statements, computation of tax.
  3. Understand the way organizations finance their operations, plan and control cash flows, optimize the use of working capital and allocate resources to capital expenditure projects.
